A group of extraordinarily generous sisters in the Brisbane Church of Christ donated a substantial amount of non-perishable food items to a Brisbane based Foodbank on the 16th of March 2020. This food will go to help those that have been affected by the Bush fires that happened late last year/early this year and also to those that have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Foodbank Australia provides food for 815,000 Australians each month and operates over all the states in Australia. At least once a week, around half of the food insecure people skip a meal (55%) or cut down on the size of their meals to make their food go further (50%). At least once a week, three in ten food insecure Australians (30%) go a whole day without eating. This is why foodbanks like this are so important and need generous donations like the ones made recently.
